What Goes Around Comes Around: Rummy, Dirty Bush, Big Dick Recycle Commie Brainwashing at Gitmo

This is a nice story.

It's the kind of actual in-depth journalism that, had the NY Times been so doing all along, one wouldn't still be thinking of the New York Times as belonging to the media whore media.

The cool thing is that Rummy/Dirty Bush's 21st century All-American torture techniques were originally designed by their original designers TO ELICIT FAKE CONFESSIONS.

Haha.

I mean, really, hahaha.
WASHINGTON — The military trainers who came to Guantánamo Bay in December 2002 based an entire interrogation class on a chart showing the effects of “coercive management techniques” for possible use on prisoners, including “sleep deprivation,” “prolonged constraint,” and “exposure.”

What the trainers did not say . . . was that their chart had been copied verbatim from a 1957 Air Force study of Chinese Communist techniques used during the Korean War to obtain confessions, many of them false, from American prisoners.

The recycled chart is the latest and most vivid evidence of the way Communist interrogation methods that the United States long described as torture became the basis for interrogations both by the military at the base at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, and by the Central Intelligence Agency.

Original report, here.

No Blood For Hubris:

Saying that Bushco is fucked is like saying that water is wet. I can never argue with that.

I have a small plug to plug. I was flying from D.C. to Denver, on wednesday, and met Jim Sheeler. He authored, "Final Salute" a book about the cost of the war in Iraq, to the families of our soldiers who have died there. Please google the books title and take a look. It's not, I'm sure, a fun summer read but after talking to him I think it's probably worth reading (he's sending me a copy).

Nobody here owes me anything, including courtesy, but I think that you might want to look at it.

Happy 4th of July.

Remember to floss after brushing and flush after bushing.

Funny we share our love of torture with countries that love capital punishment too. What a lovely subset of countries to be among.

I have no control over the manners of my commenters (other than deleting extreme heinousness, and I've even f*cked that up), but of course I personally extend to you, democommie, a welcoming hand of virtual friendship and intra-party workingitoutedness, which with courtesy goes along.

And thanks for the tip on the book.
;) Happy 4th back atcha.

Everything else is made in China these days, so why shouldn't America's torture -- excuse me, "enhanced interrogation techniques" -- programme be made there too? After all, it makes no sense to re-invent the wheel.

FORCE CONGRESS TO IMPEACH GEORGE BUSH AND DICK CHENEY, call Nancy Pelosi @1-202-225-0100 and DEMAND IMPEACHMENT. DC business hours only, call often, spread it around.

To borrow the first line of one of my favorite movies, PUMP UP THE VOLUME:

"Did you ever get the feeling that everything in America is COMPLETELY FUCKED UP?"
