Yes.

That is the correct answer.

What is the right answer?
That there are too many lawyers and not enough economists?
That there are too many rich autocrats and not enough populist democrats?
That there is too much conversation and not enough action?
That there are too many corporate shills and not enough community activists?
That there are too many politicians and not enough bankers and corporate movers and shakers?
That there are too many rich vested interests and not enough poor people?

Surely you're not suggesting its a gender thing? Wouldn't that be sexist?

Put the flamethrower down. I agree we need more women in positions of power - I just don't think it would have made a damn bit of difference in the current crisis.

Far be it from me to play the gender card.

Anyhow, you're right. It's not about gender, it's about competence.

And you're right that he omission of large sectors of the world's population from positions of power is very significant.

That being said, comparing an approximate number of the unrepresented chronically poor ( say, ~420m) to the unrepresented chronically female (1/2 of 6,737,305, 461 at last googling) seems at least potentially enlightening in terms of comparative powerlessness.

Yeah, I know, Andrea is up there by herself. But I just saw this on kos and it's kinda telling.
