Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald spent more than half a day Friday at the offices of Patton Boggs, the law firm representing Karl Rove.
During the course of that meeting, Fitzgerald served attorneys for former Deputy White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove with an indictment charging the embattled White House official with perjury and lying to investigators related to his role in the CIA leak case, and instructed one of the attorneys to tell Rove that he has 24 hours to get his affairs in order, high level sources with direct knowledge of the meeting said Saturday morning.
Robert Luskin, Rove's attorney, did not return a call for comment. Sources said Fitzgerald was in Washington, DC, Friday and met with Luskin for about 15 hours to go over the charges against Rove, which include perjury and lying to investigators about how and when Rove discovered that Valerie Plame Wilson was a covert CIA operative and whether he shared that information with reporters, sources with direct knowledge of the meeting said.
It was still unknown Saturday whether Fitzgerald charged Rove with a more serious obstruction of justice charge. Sources close to the case said Friday that it appeared very likely that an obstruction charge against Rove would be included with charges of perjury and lying to investigators.
Hmm. Karma for Karl?
Happy Birthday, Buddha!

Thanks for commenting on my blog earlier. Your blog is a very interesting read and I like what I've read so far. So, I'm going to add you to my blogroll and drop by from time to time. Hope you'll do the same.
As for Fitzgerald, have you seen the latest about Cheney's handwritten notes? In a couple years the "pardon Cheney" question may become a campaign issue.
Yes, I did see that. By the way, what year were you at SLC?
Class of 1991.
Aha. I was there much earlier, when it was just going co-ed. Clifford May (who attended my wedding!!) was there then, and on the side of truth and beauty.
Clifford went over to the dark side, I don't know why, became a dark side TV talking head, so sad.
Glad to encounter an SLC alumnus!
Karl Rove is too handsome and too Republican to be guilty!
C--You're so right when you're right, Carrie!
R - Indeed.
Here's hoping that Barney took a big dump on Karl's shoe...

WHAT IF??? THE OFFICIAL A IN KARL'S PAPERS IS DICK?
( FITZ ALWAYS INDICTS OFFICIAL A- ALWAYS)
I PREDICT WE WILL KNOW BY WEDNESDAY...
( I AM NOT YELLING- LIILY SAT ON MY GLASSES--SORRY)
