Bush's choice for CIA chief blasts Rumsfeld
A SPECIAL intelligence unit set up by the US Defence Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, before the invasion of Iraq selectively used intelligence to support the White House's claim of clear links between Saddam Hussein's regime and al-Qaeda.More at the Sydney Morning Herald.
General Michael Hayden, President George Bush's choice to head the CIA, told the Senate intelligence committee on Thursday the Pentagon's controversial Office of Special Plans disregarded intelligence that suggested there was no real connection between the Iraqi leader and the terrorist organisation.
General Hayden's comment came during his confirmation hearing and was the first time a senior Bush Administration official has said intelligence was selectively used to support the view that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction and close links with al-Qaeda.

General Hayden is a patriot American, and if he says something, you'd better do it if you enjoy your freedom! I don't why he's saying bad things about Mr. Rumsfeld, they, like Our Great Leader were all chosen by God to lead America to greatness!
He has done this before. John Aravosis deletes anything that really upsets him.

It's a head fake. I suspect Rumsfeld himself was leaking stories to the press about Hayden's dissent in order to help his confirmation. Rumsfeld knows he's not accountable anyway and doesn't care if he's being publicly outed by Hayden. Hayden is enough of a loyalist and he wants him on the inside.
Hmm, Rob. Sounds right to me.
