Ok, I'm back from DC. Almost off to work.
This is a blogging IOU.
Will write about Americans United for the Separation of Church and State's blogger meet-up in DC. Great fun, lots of laughter.
Thinking about writing at more length on sexist smears against Martha Coakley, sample here.
Putting the pieces together re Ft. Hood shooter. Sounding more Islamic than traumatic right now. When will they start trying to waterboard him?
Later.

How juvenile was that reporter? And, of course, acting like a 12-year-old while complaining Coakley was acting like she was in high school.
Is it me or would our journalism be better if these folks didn't have so many issues left over from their school days?
I was agnostic on the Massachusetts primary because 1) I don't live in Massachusetts and 2) know relatively little about the candidates (see point 1). But I'm starting to consider sending Coakley a few bucks. She's got a very good record on women's issues and these days that makes her something of a rarity (unfortunately). Plus, as I've said elsewhere, I've had just about all of Dude Nation that I can stand.
I liked her a lot based on her record on domestic violence, and even more once I heard her in person. Imagine, she suggested that our state needs an actual "progressive!"
That, plus the local media whining, alternately, that Coakley is "ooh too timid!" AND "ooh too ambitious!" -- same newspaper, on different days.
And Capuano (who I had otherwise liked) today framing himself a "workhorse, not a show horse" like Coakley -- oh, those girls, they're just so vain, and superficial and only interested in clothes and makeup!
And articles framing her gender in a double bind -- damned if you do, damned if you don't -- re mentioning gender -
Fugeddaboudid. I'm having traumatic flashbacks. And this time I know what to do.
